# Introduction

# Affinity MCP Server

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Affinity plan required:** MCP access is available on **Scale**, **Advanced**, and **Enterprise** plans. To check your tier, go to **Settings → Billing & Plans** in Affinity, or ask your account admin.

Ask your AI assistant questions about your pipeline, relationships, and meetings, and get answers
directly from Affinity, without leaving your chat interface.

## How it works

The Affinity MCP Server implements the [Model Context Protocol (MCP)](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/),
an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external data sources. Once configured, your AI
client communicates with the MCP server, which securely fetches live data from the Affinity API on
your behalf.

## What you can do

> [card] Relationship intelligence
>
> Find companies or people you haven't been in touch with recently, surface new contacts, and see who on your team has the strongest relationship with a prospect.

> [card] Pipeline management
>
> Search and summarize opportunities, pull up list entries, field data, and saved views. Create new lists, opportunities, and list entries straight from chat.

> [card] Meetings and activity
>
> Review upcoming and past meetings with any contact or company, and get a summary of recent interactions with a prospect.

> [card] Notes and capture
>
> Create notes against any person, company, or opportunity from your AI chat, and retrieve or search existing notes by creator or date.

> [card] Field updates
>
> Update field values on any entity or list entry, define new fields, and review field value history without leaving your AI chat.

> [card] Reminders
>
> Manage follow-up reminders for contacts and companies so nothing falls through the cracks.

## Example prompts

Once connected, try asking your AI assistant:

* *Find all companies I first emailed in Q1 2024.*
* *Show me people I haven't spoken to since last year.*
* *List all my upcoming meetings with VCs next week.*
* *Who are the new people we met in the last 30 days?*
* *Summarize the notes on Acme from this quarter.*
* *Which opportunities in my pipeline haven't been updated recently?*
* *Create a note on Acme summarizing our call today: we discussed partnership terms and next steps.*
* *Add Acme to our address book and create an opportunity for them on the Series A Pipeline.*
* *Update the Stage field on the Acme deal to "Due Diligence".*
* *Set a reminder to follow up with Jane Smith in two weeks.*
* *Who on my team has the strongest relationship with the partners at Benchmark?*
* *What were the key discussion points from my last call with Acme?*
* *Find AI infrastructure companies in our network.*
